Howdy!
Concordia Art Student, Megan Hepburn won the 2010 Joseph Plaskett Award and according to the press release it sounds like Joe Plaskett was the one to give her the cash himself. Of note is that this year's jury members were Eliza Griffiths, Pierre Dorion and Etienne Zack.
Back in 2006, Ms. Hepburn had a show at the Stride Gallery in Calgary that appears to have caused a little bit of a fuss. Her art is also reproduced on pages 26 & 27 in Memewar #1 [pdf alert].
